New Partnership Initiatives put Systems Training back on the Skills Agenda
The Fire and Security Association has today announced that it has signed two new tri-partite partnership agreements with the Electrical Contractors’ Association Education and Training Department and two leading systems sector training providers.
The first agreement, builds upon an already successful training delivery relationship with the Fire Protection Association (FPA). The FSA, ECA and FPA have been running jointly developed courses for Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Systems since May 2008 and through this new agreement, aim to further develop and provide effective education and training solutions across the sector, ranging from a number of short courses through to a Foundation Degree in Fire Systems Engineering.
The second agreement, is with the leading training provider Tavcom Training and will see both the FSA and ECA not only promoting Tavcom Training’s outstanding portfolio of courses under their joint ‘Preferred Training Provider’ initiative, but also working collaboratively with Tavcom to research, develop and establish applicable and valid education, training and qualifications for the security systems sector of the electro-technical industry.
Head of the FSA, Stefan Hay said: “ Our relationship with the FPA is going from strength to strength and the success of our existing portfolio of courses has been beyond our expectations. The fact that we can now add Tavcom Training to our network of trusted partners is a major coup for the FSA. Tavcom is, in my opinion, the premier provider of security systems training, both in the UK and beyond and having known the Tavcom team for many years, I am certain that they will offer the same dedication to this relationship as they do to our industry as a whole. These are truly exciting times for education in the systems sector.”
The FSA and TAVCOM Training will be exhibiting at IFSEC 2009 and the FPA will be exhibiting at FIREX 2009 and the Safety and Health EXPO 2009, which will all take place at the NEC, Birmingham from 11th to 14th May 2009.
