FSA - Security Systems Section

The FSA Security Systems Section represents and supports companies involved in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and monitoring of electronic security systems. These systems include Intruder, CCTV, Access and IP addressable systems.

FSA companies include businesses of all sizes operating across the UK.

All FSA security systems specialists are registered with either NSI or SSAIB for security systems.

Key issues for the FSA include:

• Police (ACPO) policy concerning its response to activated intruder alarm systems
• SIA policy concerning  any possible future regulation of electronic security systems firms
• The effective representation of the needs of the sector in the development of British and European technical standards and national occupational standards 
• The effective support of security systems specialists in their adoption of new standards and technical change in order to meet the needs of their customers
• The development of appropriate qualifications and the provision of training needed to enable security systems specialists to assimilate technological developments and meet the needs of their customers
