TrustMark
TrustMark is a scheme (covering England, Wales and Northern Ireland) supported by government, industry and consumer groups to help you find reliable and competent firms to carry out improvements and repairs to your home.
The ECA (Electrical Contractors' Association) - the trade association representing electrotechnical contractors - is a licensed TrustMark operator for Security Systems.
Click here to find a Trustmark Registered Firm in your area prepared to install an Electronic Security System.
All the firms listed for security systems on this site:
- Are registered with either NSI (National Security Inspectorate) or SSAIB for security systems – two schemes that meet police policy on intruder alarms and
- Have signed-up to a code or practice that includes insurance cover, good health & safety practices and proper dealing with their customers
Insurance cover is optional for the customer, but all the firms listed here are required to give you the certificates you need to obtain the benefit - free of charge - of an insurance backed Warranty and Bond (see Warranty and Bond for sample certificates).
If you have a complaint regarding the work carried out for you, in the first instance you should contact the firm concerned. If you are unable to resolve the issue with the firm, then the ECA, as a TrustMark scheme operator, will investigate and endeavour to resolve the matter. Please refer to our Complaints Management Policy for more details.
Please note that for each firm listed here, a figure is provided for its 'Contract Value Limit' - this is the maximum value of a job it is entitled to carry out as a TrustMark registered firm. In the event of the value of a job exceeding a firm's Contract Value Limit, the above-mentioned insurance-backed Warranty and Bond become void and the firm will then be operating in default of TrustMark's requirements and the provisions of the scheme will no longer apply.
In addition to Security Systems, the ECA is also licensed for electrical work. All the firms that are TrustMark-registered here for electrical work are also registered with a government authorised self-certification scheme and can provide you with a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate - this means you do not need to involve building control in any electrical work carried out in your home or garden.
